IGCC, which stands for Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle, is an advanced power generation technology and is the development orientation of global coal-fired power plant. At the early part of the last century, trains were driven by coal-fired steam turbine, which is high energy consumption, low efficiency and high pollutant. Currently, most of the global existing power plants still use coal-fired steam turbine process, which is not suitable for this era. IGCC has totally changed direct coal-fired power generation process. It firstly convert coal to gas, and then utlize cleaned gas as fuel to generate power through gas turbine (i.e. large aeroplane engine) combustion. During the clean-up process, high-valued tar and sulfur byproducts can be seperated. The high-temperature taill gas from the gas turbine goes into Heat Recovery Steam Turbine for combined cycle heat and power generation to form heat, power, tar and steam cogeneration. Using this new process, the resources can be efficiently utilized for high-valued production. Comparing to conventional processes, it has obvious advantages on energy-saving and envionment protection. In recent years, governments in the world have attached great importance to his technology. China is also positively developing this process. National Development and Reform Commission has listed IGCC in “Foreign Investment Industrial Guidance Catalogue (Year 2007)” as encouraged sorts. The first article of Encouraged Foreign Investment Industrial Guidance Catalogue “IV Producer and supplier of power, gas and water” says “Utilizing integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC), 300MW and more circulating fluidized bed, 100MW and more pressurized circulating fluidized bed clean combustion technology for power station construction and operation.” |
